Student Life - Earth Day
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. This year our MNC students in B1-B7 organized various events to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The celebration started with a long walkathon from the school to the central park of Jdeidet Marjoyoun. All students and teachers took part in the walkathon during which our students distributed handouts to raise community awareness in regard to environmental issues. Upon return to the school, students displayed all the models that they had created from recyclable material to demonstrate the 3R’s in science “Reuse-Reduce-Recycle”. Students have had their healthy breakfast with their teachers and they discussed the various factors that contribute to the climate change, global warning, and pollution.
At the end of the event, B5 and B6 students collected garbage to do waste sorting.All collected items were classified into three categories: plastic, paper, and organic waste. Students applied the science content knowledge related to fermentation and waste management. Meanwhile, B7 students designed their own garden in which they planted various types of flowers in front of their playground.
